Remote Service vs. Technical Support

We're sometimes asked to explain the difference between Remote Service and Technical Support.

Dostek Technical Support helps you complete tasks or solve problems by providing advice by telephone or email. Technical support will direct you to the correct application, help file, document, menu or technique to achieve your goal, but you do all the work. Technical support is free for a certain period after you purchase your Dostek product to help you with installation and setup, or thereafter by annual subscription or per-incident service fee.

With Dostek Remote Service, however, a Dostek technician connects to your computer over the Internet and performs the necessary tasks, trains you to use the software, or diagnoses and resolves a reported problem. Remote Service is available at nominal cost, either as an hourly or flat-rate service fee.

Dostek Technical Support is ideal for customers who are self sufficient and have the time available to perform the tasks themselves. Dostek Remote Service is ideal for customers with limited computer, networking and serial communication skills or with limited time to perform the tasks themselves.
