Download Instructions

To save time and ensure a successful installation on the first attempt, please follow all instructions and carefully read all messages displayed on your computer screen during installation. If you encounter any difficulty downloading, installing, configuring or using the Dostek DNC software, please contact Dostek.

 

 

Step 1.

Close all open applications, documents and windows on your computer, except for this current web browser window. If you have configured the Dostek MultiPort DNC Server application to run as a Windows service, you must shut it down. Choose 'Configure', 'Options', un-check 'Start as a Windows service', and restart the computer. After installing the update, start the application and re-check the option.

 

Step 2.

Click the 'Download' button below. Your web browser will display a 'File Download' dialog box.

 

 

Step 3.

Click the 'Save' button on the 'File Download' dialog to save the download file on your computer.

Specify a location where you will be able to easily find the file. For example, choose 'Desktop' or 'My Documents'. The download will begin, and your browser will display the download progress dialog. If the dialog provides a 'Close this dialog when download completes' option, please ensure it is NOT CHECKED.

If you purchased a download only copy of the Dostek DNC software (that is, you did not order a software CD), then please make at least two permanent backup copies of the downloaded file. If you wish to reinstall the software on your computer at a later date (for example, when you repair or replace the computer), and you are unable to find the downloaded file, you may be required to purchase a software update in order to download and install the newest software version.

 

Step 4.

When the download is finished, the next action depends on whether you wish to install Dostek DNC on the current computer or a different computer.

If you wish to install Dostek DNC on the current computer, and you are already logged in to a user account that has Administrator privileges, you may click the 'Run' button on the File Download dialog to immediately start installation, and jump ahead to Step 7. Otherwise, please click the 'Close' button to complete the download and continue with the next step.

 

Step 5.

If you wish to install Dostek DNC on a different computer, copy the downloaded file to a CD, USB memory drive or a shared network folder, and save the downloaded file to the computer on which you wish to install the software.

 

Step 6.

Before attempting to install the software, please log in to a user account that has Administrator privileges.

 

Step 7.

Open the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.
